Not apples to apples but my experience with the 35mm pwk in central NY (800ft elevation). I'm running 152 main, 42 pilot and stock pj 34mm needle on 3rd clip. I've got a trx cylinder that has been mid range ported, cr head gasket, cool head 21cc dome (190lbs compression), boyesen rad valve, stock air box with drilled lid, fmf fatty pipe and '00 cr 250 ignition. I run 100ll fuel mixed 32:1 with klotz super techniplate. I run the same jetting in the 35mm pwk on my '86 ATC 250R as well with similar mods to my TRX.

The e85 is your problem. E85 is an alcohol fuel and as we know to run alcohol you need to jet way fat.

Id say ditch the 50/50 and run 93-94 pump or VP. It will save you one hell of a headache.

im at 180psi dont i need to run 110? or would 93 do the job?

Im tried a 220 just now and im good untill 3rd about half, i need a bigger pilot also.

Now why the hell would you do something like that? How about you try doing a compression check and running whatever octane GASOLINE is appropriate.

And no, you can't run space shuttle fuel in your 250R, either.

Depending on what other work you have done 180lbs shouldn't require 110. Do you have access to 100 octane fuel? What are you using for an intake setup?

I think you're mighty close to needing race gas (generally 110 octane or so). I'm gonna let someone with a little more engine experience chime in as to whether you could get away with 93 octane, a 50/50 mix with 93 octane and 110 octane, or if you need to run straight 110 octane.

My recommendation would be to stick with gasoline. Don't mess with running any sort of blend with E85, which is roughly 85% alcohol.

And don't get me wrong, I'm a big supporter of running E85 in flex fuel vehicles. We run it in our tow rig almost exclusively.

well i have 2 carbs im going to be running, one is a 40 mm lectron waiting for jets for that and then i paid 100 bucks today for this 35 mm PWK cause i couldnt wait to ride cause of a few things that happened the past few days... i NEED to ride.

th reason i did the e-85 is cause the lectron is going to be ran on that and i thought i would be able to get teh pwk to run on it as well, its about a 115 and its CHEAP! i know that sounds stupid but i cant swing 7 bucks a gallon on fuel to ride. and i wish i could tone the compression down a bit

as far as set up goes its a 90's CR cylinder Ported by FTZ for a mid to top end set up. running a stroker with a bace plate and the boyssen 02 B reed cage. LRD exhaust with a Pro ciruit silencer on it.

E85 is only 94-96 (R+M)/2. Thats 94-96 octane. With the comp your running (depending on other factors like squish, timing, plug etc. ) 93-94 pump is fine. Im at 220 psi with the timing advanced a few degrees (cr ignition) , re-squished head and VP is all I can run.

well then im gonna go pick up some 93 and try that...

if your compression is at 180 you'll be fine running 93 pump. once you start nearing 190-200, you're getting into race gas territory. also, depending if you're running a cool head with either a 18 cc or 22 cc dome you need to run race gas. can t remember which one but one of those requires race gas to be run in it.

My ESR 310 is at 180 and i run 93 pump at i think 40:1. whatever the ratio you use, 93 will be fine. Ive been running pump since i put my 310 on and its a beast. no issues at all.

i dont know what the hell it is with todays people at shops but i called CT and i got my *** reamed out by some chick that was telling me my set up wasnt right and was just a total ****! so i called FTZ and i asked what they said to start with for a base line jetting set up for my motor, they said that i use use a 640 jet with the needle all the way up. so what would that convert over to for a PWK set up?

I under stand that LED LRD CT Duncan, ESR FTZ sparks all those guys will tell people to jet different when they are running their set ups and stuff but in a since that is what im going to do, i have a Lectron carb, and a PWK, i have 93, 110, and E85 to test, all in 3 different tanks, I have a LRD BB exhaust and i'm going to test all 3 carbs and different settings and see what works best and give me the most HP, im going on the 6th so i'll be able to tell from there.

does my set up sound stupid to any of you

85 cases, +4 stroker, Cr cyl at 66.4 mm bore, 178PSI lrd exhaust.... oe timing...

I was running motul when I was breaking it in but it doesn't matter what you use just get something good. Currently I'm running belray H1R. You can also use belray HTT. Get a mixing measuring cup so you know exactly what ratio your running. You can get it at any moto store
