I just built a 250r, Its super strong and pretty bulletproof. They have proven them selves for many years. But I have had a 450R and I see how the 4 strokes can be better. Im looking at going to the ltr, I have rode one and it blew me away. BUT, I am worried about the transmission. It seems like every single one out there has a trans problem. Are there any out there that can be ridden and not break in 20 or less hours?

They have all had some kind of trans problem, but they are all easy fixes. With the 06 and 07 you can install the $50 shift pin relocator in about an hour and a half. I am not sure about the price or install time on a 3rd gear in the 08s.

I HAVE HAD FOUR LTRS IN SINCE 2006 I HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE PROBLEM WITH ONE OF THEM OTHER THAN STUPID PROBLEMS THAT I DID ON MY OWN. HOWEVER THE TRANNY PROBLEMS ARE DEF REAL I JUST DONT THINK THEY ARE AS COMMON AS THE PEOPLE ON THIS SITE MAKE THEM OUT TO BE. WE JUST HAVE A HIGH CONSENTRATION OF ATV RACERS ON THIS SITE THAT BEAT ON THERE MACHINES AND DONT GET ME WRONG I BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF MY BIKES BUT LUCKILY THE TRANNY HAS NEVER BEEN ONE OF MY ISSUES. I HOPE THIS HELPS YOU AND I ALSO HOPE I DIDNT JUST JINX MYSELF. LOL

Been racing my fully built 07 in A class locally and 3 nationals for 1.5 years now with ZERO problems at all besides getting cracks in the frame down by the footpeg, and another stupid problem was that the positive cable for the solenoid got rusty from washing it and it wouldnt start but I cleaned the rust off and it started fine... just a little stupid problem... I dont even have the shift relocater in mine yet.
