I was looking on ebay at a ct 350 motor. The description said the bottom end had been upgraded with crf 450r gears. Is this a bunch of crap or can you actually do that? Just curious.

its probably impossible. You are dealing with a 6 speed(trx) vs 5 speed(crf), counter balancer is driven differently and besides, for most people, a close ratio 5 speed in a quad isn't what most want. I find with my crf hybrid, 1st is way too low, 2nd is too high for anything resembling tight or a holeshot, 3rd seams to be nice for average riding and 4th and 5th is too low. I get passed by quads running 5th(13/38 w/ 18" tires) on mine and these guys aren't even in 5th and some have another gear to go. Its great for mx, better for a tighter mx track.
