Hi,
I'm not sure what is wrong with my 400ex. It idles perfectly, but as soon as you give it gas, it will sputter, cut out, and die if you don't get off the gas. If you give it a ton of gas, you can rev it up, and it will even give full power. It seems it only cuts out when you are at 1/4 throttle. I checked fuel line, they are clear and not pinched, and the jets are clean. I also tried running it with the airbox lid off, same thing. Would the fuel mixture screw have anything to do with it?

i was thinking the same, what is your jetting and what mods does it have? Did it just start doing this out of the blue or did you change something and then it happened? steve

I changed a bunch of stuff around. I did drop the needle all the way. It was leaking and I couldn't find out what was making it leak, but I finally fixed it, and now it's runnin funky lol. I forgot about the needle, I'll put it back where it was and see how it works. Thanks a bunch guys!
