Grab Bar

Ok i hate how the grab bar is not interchangeable. I want to know how all you guys put diffrent ones on i saw how some just bolted over but i dont care for the looks of them so how did you guys weld your brackets on and what all did you have to do to your sub frames want to see pics of how it was done

I was thinking about doing the 6 pack rack but also wondered this same question.

i've seen people just cut their old ones off but im not sure what kind of mounts they welded on and what style grab bar would work im thinkin if you cut it off too use a 450r grab bar and weld some mounts on the sub frame

The 6 pack rack I was looking at mounts onto the sub frame. Here is a picture of what it looks like.

Im thinking about ordering this one... its cheap and i like the desert style grab handles.. anyone else have this one?

most guys that cut theirs off use a 250r setup to be able to use those grab bars. it works out good but you would have to do a bit of welding and get a 250r bar.

to bad a pics don't work on the link.

if you know a welder that has access to his work or a good 'ol boy with a welder of some type they should be able to build the brackets with some basic hand tools and weld them on. should be a pretty simple deal. buy the new grab bar first to see what you need to do.

Actually I think I might pick this one up too. I like being able to carry a few beverages or what not on long rides.

^ Please buy it direct from PRM. I tried to order stuff once from jokers and had major problems with paying them and they never sent my stuff and junk.

I don't have pictures but I cut mine and welded some gussets in, and put some holes in the gussets with a nut welded on the inside, and use a 86-87 250r bar. I have the PRM Desert on all my bikes, and LOVE it. IMO its the best out there for sheer performance
