so i just bought my buddys 2005 yfz450. it has after market pipe and high comp pistons and i think a hot cam and racing clutch,after market airfilter. the quad starts as soon as you puh the start button and will idel fine but some times when u push the throttle to fast it will bog but stay running. i took it out for a rip yesterday and for the first 2 min it ran fine then all of a sudden when i went to go crack the throttle it just bogged out and died no matter what gear i was in. it kept doing this for about 5 min. then i let the quad cool down and tried again a couple min later and it would drive normal once againce for about 1-2 min. ive been told it could be jets or?????

PLZ HELP ME!!!!

go to youtube and type in zip tie mod. shud help i did it

i seen that video but isint that just for faster snap on the throttle? mine actually boggs and stalls all the time

you are experiencing the motor starving of gas when the accelerator pump is opened. the squirter hole is too small on the carbs. the zip tie mod or o-ring mod is a quick fix.

i did the zip tie mod and im gona go test it today but i still think its somthing else since my bike dies not just bogs.

if the bog is bad enough, it will die. I have been through all this.

I have a 35 leak jet and 48 pilot (too big) in mine and i have the SLIGHTEST bog.

so i did the zip tie mod and it still does it. im also thinking its somtthing to do with when it gets hot it does it. cuz it rides normal for 2 min then the engine gets hot and it boggs out. then i shut it off for 2 min and rides normal again till it gets hot again. i have no idea whats going on

whats your jetting?

are you sure you did the mod right?

ya i watched the video 4 times lol. and im not sure what the jetting is but chek this link out. some guy is having the same problem as me
