what does everyone use to cover their intake when washing their bikes. They make a cover for dirtbikes but not quads. i always remove my filter after i wash it because its exposed and gets wet easily. I have a FCI intake which uses a 4.5 inch flange clamp on filter so i was looking for some homemade tricks that would plug the intake up while washing. My airbox gets rediculously dirty and i cant wash it out with the filter on.

any ideas for what i could slip over the intake to clamp on it.

i just take a ziploc bag and clamp it on but make sure it's a heavy duty one so it doesn't rip but i think walsh or someone makes a plug to go in some bikes but i think it's silly to buy something like that

I bought something like this from Home Depot or Lowes to put in the metal adapter plate when I had the stock intake tube on my YFZ. I haven't tried it with my FCI because I broke my collarbone the first day of riding with it. You might have to be more careful to keep from breaking the plastic FCI, so there may be better options out there. Mine wasn't quite large enough so I had to wrap it with tape to get a good seal.

If you want it to slip over the intake tube then something shaped like these mudcaps might be an option if you find them in the right size.

i just stuff a thick towel in the air box when i clean it, so the filter dont get wet. and to clean the airbox itself, i take the filter out, spray a rag with simple green and scrub it
