View Full Version : How much would this cost and how will it hold up?

my neighbor works at a auto shop where they paint cars and fix them and i was wondering if i took my a-arms of and had them paint them red or sumthing how will it hold up? what would the cost be around?

Automotive paint should hold up pretty well.

yeah if spray paint can hold up good....pro car paint should hold up better because its make to last long....

If the cost is very much at all just get them PCed.

If your worried about how long they last, i got a little trick. If you take the 3M clear numberplate background and cut it ina strip as long as the bottom of your a arm, it protects it pretty well, adn it always stays shiny and cleans easily. You can hardly notice it if you do it well.

YOu cant get stock a arms pc'ed cause the ball joints arnt removable so the oven will screw up the rubber. automotive paint hholds up well. a few guys around here have there frames done like that. and its been pretty good

My friend painted his a-arms w/ auto paint and it's holding up good so far! It shouldn't be too expensive either. :ermm: :D

It will work good enough but everything will chip etc if you hit it hard enough.

He is your neighbor so just ask him how much, but I wouldnt be spending a lot on a little paint job like that.

the rubber comes off, i have powdercoated many and even chromed some, mine have been chromed and there fine, just had to repack the grease
