Drive a company car for work, but finally nutted up again and bought another truck. I bought this 1997 F350 on ebay out of South Dakota about a month ago; flew out from Cleveland to pick it up and drove it all the way back. It has a 460, 5spd with low 1st, 4x4 off-road package, 3:55 gears, heavy bumper with Reese hitch, plus the new Eagle rims and Cooper ST tires. Best part...it STILL only has around 19,000 original miles and aside from a few paint chips, is in about 8.5 out of 10 condition. If I do anything to it, it'll include a full Banks exhaust system, front leveling springs, 285 tires and 4:10 gears.

Just bought this Avalanche, love it! Got rid of my ol'Dodge 2500. This one is freakin' loaded, navi the works. Big change from my dodge worktruck version. LOL!
Next on the list, 20" black rokstars and Cooper Xeons..

BTW, yes the quad will fit in the back but I usually pull a 12' H&H enclosed trailer that is a make-shift camper too.

Mine rides inside with me!!:D
The back two rows of seats are out so when we go racing or whatever we just throw the quad and pitbike in the back, now if both my son and I are racing we have to take the trailer.

sad to say i drive a civic. we use the wife's yukon xl to do the work. love the car but you must fold your sack between your legs when driving it. at least it's a coupe and not a 4 door. that's at least 5 cool points

Mine is also pretty bad. I got a 89 Chevy that was a plow truck it's whole life and still is. The only good body piece on it is the hood!!

Haha, thanks. It's my daily driver, someday I would like to put a V8 in it but funds don't allow for that right now. It's only got a V6 5 speed right now.

With the price of gas, I wouldnt be in a hurry to get rid of that combo! I would build a straight six and a 4 speed for my 75 swb if I didnt already have a 350/350turbo.

why on earth would you get a gasser for hauling quads?? diesels get twice the mileage...

oh well maybe you mean just to haul one around in the back, then yeah maybe that would work. but I always feel too vulnerable without a ****pot of tools, spare tires, parts, etc. and that would never fit it all in the back of a truck

yea! to haul a single or to pull a trailer load of em. as far as milage, the last one got around 23 highway. the next i'd hope to build with modern technology and be more efficient.

Nice 250r and truck Maryland450r! How you like the new chevys for hauling trailers and such?? I might get one. And is that the 1500?

07-05-2010, 07:07 PM
Thanks redrider419! Mine tows good but I haven't towed anything significant yet...only had it about 7mo. I do totally love it though. It is the 1500 and has the 315hp 5.3L w/ 6spd auto and 3.73 locker rear. I went from a ford 6.0 dually which towed like a dream, so I'm sure this won't come close to it when pulling a loaded car trailer.

2006 Tacoma. Off-Road. I had a 99 tacoma prior to this but I was one of the fortunate ones that Toyota bought it back from me for 4X what I paid for it. These trucks are great. Anyone who has a black off road stick interested in trading let me know.
