Just got word tonight that another young rider has lost their life.

Catherine Plante , a young female quad racer from Quebec, has lost her life. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all her friends and family. R.I.P.

Thats sucks.....I wonder if there is any relation to Jasmin Plante.....not that it matters.

One friend says no, one says it was Jamine's neice.

In any event, a tragic loss. :(

RIP and my thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.

things happen fast sometimes its with little or no warning, went cross country racing today and from the way i understand is a kid wrecked on the ski jump at cooperland. he somehow came off and went to the ground. the quad came at him side ways, nerf bar first, striking him in the upper stomach/lower chest area. the last lap wreck was bad enough that he was life flighted out.
i pray that it was more precautionary than anything.

Not sure if she is related to Jas, but her Ex boyfriend races NEATV who im friends with so it hits close to home, deff sucks my prayers go out to the family, she was a beautiful girl a great rider, and from what i hear, a great person

RIP hate to see riders being lost doing what they love, but i guess thats how i would want to go

We know friends of hers from NEATV, she raced one NEATV last season and they all say no relation to Jasmin, but they are all still a very close group of friends, so tragic for such a young girl.

Here's what was reported by a radio station ....

She was 16 years old and considered one of the best riders in her class. From what I gathered from the news report, she got tangled up in the holeshot and was thrown from her bike. She was transported to Trois-Rivieres General Hospital where she succomb to her injuries. :(

In 2009 she was the Champion in the Female ATV division of the Quebec series and in the CMRC series.

She comes from a family of ATV enthusiasts and had been racing since the age of 7.

R.I.P such a sad thing to lose another rider, condolences to mathieu deroy and the rest of the canadian crew of neatv who were fairly close with her.

Tangled in the holeshot - they need wider lanes!

Tragic for who knew her, but a new beginning for her.

Together with a few of our NEATV racers, and some of Cath's close Canadian friends, we have made up some memorial stickers for her, and we will have them at the NEATV-MX race next weekend at mx207 for anyone who would like to honor Catherine's memory!
