nice air. you also have to remember if you're sandbagging classes, that doesn't necessarily mean you're showing anyone anything ;)

I don't do real MX or ride at the real track. but I don't personally think guys who're going big and can land doubles well are necessarily D class material is all I'm saying lol

at 14, yes, you are good. are you good for D class, yes. Do I think you belong in C class or higher, yes. a 90cc 2 smoke with a rider who knows how to ride can smoke a fully built 450 who doesn't know how to ride an MX track. so basically I feel you're showing you don't belong in that class possibly not necessarily that your bike is better than a 450... just my opinion. not trying to bash you. I just don't think your 400 is top level 450 or even mid field 450 race ready...you could always go up in class and prove me wrong. but I seriously doubt in a drag race to a decently modded 450 your bike will do anything but show it's truely a 400 ;) 400s are good bikes. but they are still at the end of the day a 400...

congrats on them stats but imo clearly if all you do is win that class so easily, clearly also you are in the wrong class ;)

Those Z,s can run with the 450,s Doug Gust rode it for 3yrs again,st the yfz,crf 450,s from 03-06 and won champoinships on it! won more race,s (8 first place,s)ever in a row on it.Its NOT an EX!

Now wait a minute Hawaiinbasshed. I run 25+ and 30+ on my KFX400 with the mods you see in my Signature, and I have been pulling holeshots and beating several guys on 450's for some time. And most of these are veteran riders like me. I would like to get a new 450 but I dont see any reason to. Are you telling me that I am out of my class??? I have seen some noob racers take the chance on their first couple of races and air out big doubles and overcome their comfort level. That doesnt mean they are ready to move up in class. They just got comfortable. They'll still need to learn cornering, timing, shift timing, and body positioning. Just because this 14 yr old is doing jumps doesnt nessecarily mean hes capable of beating a more proficient rider in a higher class. HOWEVER, It would do him some good to ride with C and B class riders and just to go out to the practice track and just watch upper class riders to see what they are doing and practice on each thing one at a time to get better.

thanks jonboy i have been debating on moving up to ametuar next season but those guys are fasttt,older,and fully built 450's so thats why im where im at your suppose to be 16+ to run the class im in. i think i need more experiance haha that track i just got comfortable on i aint like that everywhere.

whoever said these will hang with 450's obviously doesn't ride a 450.

i've got a yfz450 and i'll smoke any z400 or kfx400. My buddy has a 2003 kfx 440 and it doesn't hang with my 450 on the track.

You guys are crazy saying these z400's will hang with the 450's haha. Maybe a heavily modded z440 might stay close to a stock 450. but head to head even setup the 450's will smoke your 400.

Well no kidding they are going to be faster. But are you gonna be faster than an experienced rider on a 400? Possibly but, I doubt it. So you mean to tell me that you and your 450 will get smoked by a 660? Depends all on the situation,track, and most importantly the rider. Put ol' Digger Gust on a Z400 and run him and I guarentee you'll get smoked. I cant put any more bluntly.

rider is the most important thing I have a 450r but I know a good rider on a 400 can hold his on the track.

jordan nice z man I'm 14 too. how long have you been racing? thats cool that you have a d class by you guys, the only class I can run on my 450 is 14+ open because c class you have to be 16. I do good in 14 open but it sucks with no people your age. I don't know how many 14 year olds there is down by you, but there is one that I know and he races flat track.

and jonboy a 450 maybe be faster.... in a strait line. on a mx track it takes A LOT more having a fast quad

OBVIOUSLY he know's how to corner, he is his class points leader I thought I recall reading. All I'm saying is don't come on here bragging like that if you're that good in the bottom class you're probably ready to move up. hell, if I run around racing gurl scouts door to door to sell cookies then go out bragging on showing the girl scouts how it's done will I get the same smiles? I think not!

he's showing riders how it's done possibly. he's also showing himself he's not interested in challenging himself any more. I already said he's a good rider I'm sure, as well as an accomplished rider at just 14 but just because he's so good doesn't mean he should come on here with the type of title he did and not expect people with 450s to be irritated. I'll drag race him any day of the week and he can show my 450 how it's done. how does that sound cocky right? and I'm not even saying all but what he said I put my self in the spot of the looser before hand and I still sound like a butt imo. now if I were to replace it and word it like he did, lets drag race and I'll show the 400s how it's done. that sounds even more ready for a confrontation of people who have 400s. this was just an example I do not wish to drag race anyone just trying to share what I think on the whole showing how it's done thing.

and yeah, kinda hard to compare a track built long travel 400z to a stock say kfx450r on a track imo. that's like running a stock honda 400 against a stock LTR450 on a track and seeing where it leads u. same rider (assuming experienced) swapping bikes. no, 450s are not ALWAYS faster, but iirc in my 1st post I did say DRAG race against a nicely modded 450. in which case I stand my ground I'd like to see his bike show a 450 how it's done. if not, I'd like to see him ride against another accomplished rider on a 450 that's long travel as well as similarly modded to his z400 and then see how it fares. I can ride a bicycle faster than old people in honda civic's does that mean I'm showing the civic's how it's done? not really lol.

just trying to get him off the girl scout outselling and getting him to race people worth bragging about is all I'm trying to do. once you're better and start spanking in a real class, you'll probably be to the point where you don't need to come on here and brag about it in such a showing so and so how it's done manner is what I'm thinking ;)

like I said in the begining, good job! now move up a class and challenge yourself since the other people in that class don't seem to keep up with u :D

A wellbuilt Z400 with a 450 kit/ported/cam can net 50+ hp thats on par with a 450 with similar mods, Z,s ARENT EX,s .And one Z450 (Gusts Z) beat all over the yfz450/crf450r,s before the LTR450 came to be and started the whopping all them yfz, crf 450,s year after year! the Z was retired from racing pro when the ltr450 came out , but is the only 400 that can hang with the big boys.You need to give it,s props !

when doing the sand drags i start in secand gear and i'm using 22x11x8- with 12 paddles ..............it does get it

you would think it would wheelie like a !@#$% but no it just spins hooks and go's
