Cody got on the podium!

We head north to PA last night to cover the 3rd round of the AMA Harescramble Series. Cody geared up and raced it.

He was not expecting to do great(last minute quad and rider prep LOL!)

He was spitting out gnats at the line LMAO!

The course was laid out nice for the riders, and at 12 miles long it would be just like a national. There were 39 in his class!

He went into the woods 6th I think

He was able to take the lead for awhile on the first lap but bottlenecks had him swapping spots. Near the end of teh lap he came through in 6th....2nd through 5th took a line around the creek jump...Cody hit the gas! He came out of that section in 2nd and thats where he stayed till the checkers came out. 2nd in class, 3rd overall!

He lost a left grip, lost his friggon front brakes again and hit a deer on the last lap !! Im so glad there wasnt a 4th lap haha!

They did a podium deal but i was in the woods shooting the PM race and missed it:grr:

congrats! 2nd place running threw trees and hitting deer with no front breaks. now that what time talkin about lol

LOL..How the hell do you hit a deer during a race?? It must've been deaf, blind, or just plain stupid.

Zach Zackowski saw a fawn in the same area so the Doe probably refused to run far from it. They get confused...just look at how many get hit by cars.....they are flight animals.

A bike rider at a GNCC a few years back hit one and was hurt pretty bad.

As for hitting deer, Hawk hit one at the 06 Wisp on the last lap on the way too a win.

Congrats Cody, I was planning on going but 2 hours sleep on Thursday night and shark fishing out of OC on Friday had me pretty much beat. A 12 pack and sleeping in on Saturday was all I cared about!:D

True...I didn't even think of that. Probably had nowhere to go with quads ripping around all over the woods and was just trying to get outta there. It was probably bedded before the race even started. Still kinda funny cause you never really hear pf it happening...Well, at least I haven't...lol

as for the deer. never hit one but i nicked a turkey before.lol. and the funnier thing is all my years hunting i never got a turkey and i hit one with my quad.hahaha

Over the years, thinking back ive either witnessed or heard of alot of animals run over. One of my friends dads killed a fawn on the RR tracks on his BW200 LOL!



There was some serious excitment of the bad kind during one of the PM starts.....

He dodged a bullet, the quad never really got him except right at the end!

He was off to get checked out but was in good shape for such a nasty spill!

That was my friend Alex Young, He enjoyed a good 1.5 hour soak in the Hot tub last night, hes bruised and im sure sore today but he'll be alright. What great shots though!

Been there done that before! Never fun to be first, then upside down, then praying no one hits you, then realize when you get up you're now last!

good job cody, i didnt watch all the morning race but i know zack and the other kid on the suzuki were hauling so i am sure you were too, that crash happened at the start of my class people were telling me about it but dang that looked bad glad he is alright....

If anyone ever doubts he races for the pure fun of it then they just dont know CJ:D He gave his brother the grips he won, has the gift certificates/coupons set aside and has started replacing his smaller plaques with the bigger ones on our trophy wall:p

I was told today to write the race report and it dawned on me that Cody gets a mention...thats pretty cool as a dad:blah:

Yeah I'm sure glad I made out as lucky as I did too.. very upset because that KTM never left off and just drilled me n I didn't get to race my favorite track, but hey it's racing.. Great pics and thanks again Pappy! Also thanks to the EMS n fans who helped, you did a great job.

I must also mention my bad luck continued and I wrecked my dads 450 just joy riding and ended up with more brush-burns on Monday :cuss: I think I'm gonna take a break
