They did a shoot out on atv on demand and the 450 with yosh pipe pulled 50hp on a dyno so I would say that the above link could be right.

i was wondering.my brother-n-law bought one so needed an idea of how close a race.. if at all. my soon to be 11:1 416 stage 2 cam 400ex would be. guess i'll have to look into a 450 even more now:D

A stock 450 would still be a slight disadvantage......the 525 RIPS!!!

I absolutely blow away every quad I have raced. I have a 2007 IRS 525 with jet kit, filter and pipe and no one comes close. I destroy my cousin on his raptor with pipe, fuel thingy and such. The 525 when tuned right will blow away any bike with similar mods.

SO whats your point, the 525 stock is pretty much a stroked 450 with better cam and higher flowing head and so on from the factory...so what you call my fully built 450 is comparable to what the 525 is from the factory.

with his mods...about 5.7 if I remember right, give or take a tenth, depending on track conditions and his weight....now you do, which is why I know.
Glad I could help:cool:

Umm, no. The 525 has a relatively small stock cam. Remember that this is still a stock internal motor from the OEM.

The 525 is the same as the KTM450 with the exception of the bore. The crank, rod, head, everything else is the same.
And it's 510cc.

Comparing that to an aftermarket big bore piston and "custom cam".....not so much.

Maybe your built 450 would be faster to 300'. Great. Not everyone cares about straight line drag races. Lets go out to some nasty, rutted and rocky trails....we will see how that low hanging swingarm on your zuk holds up :D

Be happy with what you have and decided to build, no need to come in here and bash.

Well I don't know about the KTM450, but the LTR,YFZ and 450R, which are the majority of the 450's have very close to the same bore size as the 525, but the 525 has a larger stroke, I can't find the specs right now but I think it was about a +7 or so stroke as compared the others, so although My LTR has a big bore kit it is stock stroke which is comparable in size to the 525 so like I said it is just a stroked 450, I just did myself to my LTR what polaris did at the factory, yes the 525 is "stock" but stock is race ready from the factory. so pretty much same, same.

I am happy with what I did to mine and did not bash one bit, so I don't know where that came from...the question was asked what the 450 owners had to say about his comment...so I gave it. and the question was not directed at rocky or rutted trails, it was racing.

Hard to say. The pred is no slouch with a slip-on and jetting. The outlaw stock would pull the piped pred by a little though.

KTM (these Austrian dudes) are good at what they do! And bold , to boot. It is true the KTM 450 is just a 525 with a smaller bore. And its true the 525 has a longish stroke(torque monster).
I found this exchange interesting. I'm sure the Suk is a fast machine, too. I must say for such a stock condition the Outlaw is one wicked machine. Not much in the same class, with the exception of the KTM quads(don't get me started. I'm drooling just thinking about it!).
You two could video tape your respective 300' runs and post them on Youtube and in a sense, we would know who the winner is . :blah:

I'm dying to see you "run'em" !!

why is it that some guys get so worked up about who has the most power or the fastest top speed? spend an hour on a track or a trail letting it all hang out and see who is in the front when the dust settles..... i bet its not the guy who was bragging about his HPs or his powdercoat job.

I know that is not me out front. I'm the guy that hit a jump too fast, and closed his eyes, and made it....of course, then I had to sit and rest for a half hour from all of the excitment. LOL:eek2:

I guess I just like what I ride and I am completely happy with how fast it is and how fast I can go rip the trails. I already miss most of the scenery as it is. Who needs faster?
