What do most of you guys run for XC setups? Heres wht i plan on runing, nothing to fancy no big bores or suspesnion mods, besides maybe some shocks, util the warrenty is up.
My Setup:
Remove Airbox Lid
Nerf Bars
K&N Filter
K&N Outwear
Jet Kit
Tinners Air Scoops
TC Racing Pipe
14t Front Sprocket
Tag T-2 Bars.

shocks and a good steering damper will make u faster in the woods than a tc pipe and other mods

id say use stock header pipe and a good aftermarket slip on for the woods..but many people like the fmf powerbomb header so

why a stock header?

Stock head pipes do a good job of removing exhaust in a hurry they flow pretty good, when i get my TC racing slip on i am going to ground down the wleds and keep the stock heade pipe, all a new headpipe will give you is usualyy more top end. you dont need that in the woods.

oh i get it now, so what would be a good slip on? HMF... T-4... Im thinking of getting the hmf or get a complete FMF setup

dont get a complete system unless your getting a power bong, every then dont get a FMF silencer, i would say a HMF and grind the welds on your stock headpipe is good, but if you want pick up a powerbong with the hmf.

the HMF and powerbomb was my original idea in the first place... Good mix for XC and MX

well for xc racing i wouldn't remove the air box lid, because this would let water and every thing else into the air box. as for the 14 tooth front sproket i would leve it alone. i would just run stock gearing.

Yes! Stay with stock gearing if possible. I lost a drag race to a 300ex while I was running a 14t and 20" tires. I know woods racing is not drag racing, but Holeshots and open stretches are.
A 14t is best for use with 22" rears to get gearing back to nearly stock.
What tires are you running?

What does Grinding the welds mean? And why is the powerbong the only header you suggest for XC?

A full pipe like the Sparks or Duncan would be fine for the Woods, but a stock header and TC pipe should have more bottom end. Get some Shocks, Damper, and Tires. Also make sure your chassis is protected...

I agree with TRX_Thumper, go with good shocks frt&rear, a steering damper, an FMF slipon, and put the airbox lid back on
