from what I've read Hotcam, among others don't have the Auto-decompression on there cams.
What is the benefit to eliminating this? Also is there a dis advantage of not having it?

Advantage to not having, one less part to fail. Disadvantage to not having is the starter will work a little harder. I think most, including myself, will tell you that the "disadvantage" is undetectable.

Yeah I didn't really notice a difference in the way it started with the stock cam with the decomp, compared to the hotcams without it. It starts just as fast.

I bought my Hot Cam stage 1 at my Honda shop and asked them about it and they said it would be absolutely fine running it without the decomp mechanism.

Mine didn't really tick anymore then stock but I do keep a close eye on the valve adjustment.

I removed the spring and plunger on mine and have not noticed a difference. Starts right up everytime. Jim
