Yep, expect no more than 12mpg at best stock so with the huge tires I would say 5-8mpg.

It also depends on what kind of vehicle and what kind of tranny and diff gears you have behind it. smaller, lighter trucks with overdrive, taller gears, etc. will allow you you turn less RPM's when your just cruising and take alot less power to get moving from a stop. Therefore they will give you a little better mileage.

If you're looking for mileage a lifted truck isn't for you.

hahaha Ok.. nevermind! What could I expect from:

Lifted F150 w/ I6 300 on 35-38 Swampers?

or

Lifted F150 w/ 302 on 35-38 Swampers?

or

Lifted S10 w/ mild-built 327 on 35-38 Swampers?

I'm looking for a vehicle.. and I want it high and roll down the road with a rumble.. but I am looking for which vehicle will also not make me get off every exit to re-fill!

Dude you're not going to find a lifted gas truck thats going to get any more than 15 at the very most. You're just not.

If you want MPG and lift/bigger tires you've got to go diesel, it's just that simple.

Those 300 I6's are EXCELLENT motors. My dad used to have an old work truck with that motor. Talk about durable. Lots of torque too.
BUT.. he was only getting like 17 in a regular cab, 2WD F150..

Oh my god dude.. your icon if hypnotizing!! hahaha

But anyway.. What diesel are you talking about? I am a Ford guy, and my dad has a stock 7.3L Turbo Powerstroke (crew cab, 8ft bed, dually) and he gets 11MPG.. What diesel in what truck? I am open to all suggestions.. (Minus a VW 1.6 TD haha)

Being I am a Ford guy.. the reason I had asked about the S10 above is because being how cheap Chevy products are, I have a mildly build 327 I could put into an S10.. but that would be my last resort... :p

Well thats terrible gas mileage your dad is getting. I'd have it taken in and tested because thats just extremely low for a diesel.

Several guys I know around here are running lifted dmax's and cummins on 37's and getting 20-22, but we're also talking newer trucks...04 and up.

And finally...the s10. I had one, it was nice and everything but a lifted s10 is a waste IMO. Just because you can doesnt mean you should. They're short and narrow and I personally laugh every time I see one pull up next to guys will full size lifted trucks. I know not everybody can afford a big full size truck and I can respect that, but your better off saving up and spending that money on a nicer full sized truck and maybe lift it yourself when you get the time.

Ford TTB front end on 35-38"s? NO NO!

300 I6 is a great motor.
302 also a great motor.

Any lifted gas truck is going to get terrible gas mileage.

I can guarantee you're going to get better mileage with a V8 pushing big tires than a V6. But seriously, If you're concerned about mileage AT ALL get the idea of getting a truck out of your head. Not going to happen. You can go diesel and get 15 or so mpg with those tires, not with gas.

Then what kind of MPG could I expect from a Mid 90's 7.3L Powerstroke
The truck would have:

35" Tires
Chip
Cold Air Intake
Straight Pipes (Poss. Stacks)
6" +/- Lift

I would be happy if I just get 15+ MPG.. and there is no way am I getting a car! I am getting a truck, but I am just looking for what way I can get one while getting the best MPG...

i had a i6 300 with a 6" lift on 35s. got around 8mpg

in my psd i get mid teens. if you care that much about mpg's than don't put tires on that are bigger than 35 on anything. because i highly doubt you plan or understand how to regear.

Do it like this:

Find a fullsize truck you like (I prefer ford) and lift it slightly, either body, suspension. Then put 32 or 33 inch tires on it.

The combo of lift and tires creates the best lift possible. Your not maxing out/wearing parts out due to extreme angle/use, and the tires usually add a good 1-2 inches and its noticeable.

If I were you and you want a ford I suggest a mid 90's F150/250. Both will have the twin traction beam setup, and are easily liftable. I would suggest either a 2 inch suspension or body lift then change the tires to 32, 33 or 35 at most. The truck will be high enough to run around in the woods, get ok mpg (expect 8-12mpg in town, maybe 15-18 hwy) cause of the rolling mass of the tires and such and be happy.

I wouldnt get the 302, the 300 6 is a better engine and has gobs more torque down low where you need it and will be geared pretty good even for a mild lift. Otherwise get the 351w, it has more power than both and gets about the same mpg. Dont get me wrong, 302 is good and all but unless its regeared it doesnt have enough imho cause most of those trucks were more light duty setups and dont have the towing gears that can utilize the larger tires/lift better.

Ask away, I have much expierance with this kinda stuff.

I have super duty with a diesel engine lifted on only 35's and im lucky to get 15 mpg, when it was on the 37s i was lucky to get 13mpg, and thats with a diesel. Those gas motors are going to chug fuel. I had 2 f-150's both lifted one with 35s and the 5.4 it got 13mpg the other lifted on 33s with the 4.2 V6 it got like 12.

Maybe 12 if your lucky..

Lifted trucks and big tires are not going to get good gas mileage period..

90s F250 with 6" lift will look stupid with 35s. 35s will pretty much fit with just a leveling kit.
