Hey Guys, i am considering putting in a new piston (+3mm) and am wondering weather to go with 11:1 or 12.5:1 compression. I need it to be dependable more that I need blazing power for a few races. Does anybody have any input or suggestions regarding this matter?

Thanks

I'm not sure at what compression it starts but, higher compression piston require higher octane fuel, i would think 12:1 would require it.
These bikes are electric start only, the battery's are small, and weak, I'm not real impressed with the starters either, a higher compression piston is going to be hard on these also.
Just my $ .02 worth, hope it helps.

We just put in the 12:1 needs race fuel though, we use VP 4.4 straight $75 5 gallons urgh!!!!!!!! Heads done nice to, Thing rips nice, reliable. My 22 year old son built it & had it on the track tearing it up. Ran good he weighs 170lbs compared to Colton 14 & 100lbs with all race cloths on. Oh & we have no problems what soever on starting it so far, turns right over,

Who is building this for you,

Hey Ken, i think the same guys that did yours maybe, advanced? I can buy 100 or 110 octane at the pump just a few miles up the road. i assume that one of these might be good enough? Would they be? I just don't want to get into something that I am going to have to work on every fe months. I would like to have the power but can't affard to keep pouring money in.

Yea thats them advanced, but Al will tell you what you need to run gas wise. He doesnt sell VP, but if he says to, you should. Its not just the octane, but the oxygen & lubricants. They will make you a nice engine. let them know i sent you, i dont get a discount, justlike to hear Al tell me how nice i am:D

we have a high compression piston. as long as you have a good starter and good battery you should not have any starting problems. I keep a battery tender on our when we are not riding and in between races (just in case) but have had no problems with our orignal battery. as far as fuel for 12:1 your 100 oct pump fuel should be just fine.

We have been running it on our last 4 quads with no issues . We used to used C-12 until trying Sunoco. Ran just as good and alot cheaper.
