my sparks exhaust has seen better days. and i figured i'd just cut off the bad parts. would shortening an exhaust can about 3 inches alter the performance?!?! i'm sure it wouldnt be enough for me to tell a difference. just curious what ya'll thought. i'm not going super shorty, just cutting a few inches off

All I'm sure is that it'll be loud as hell.
I hear the guys that run shorty's like them. I don't see them making a significant difference unless you go faster with blown ear drums

like i said, i'm not making a full blown shorty. i've seen some of those that are about 6 inches and are rediculous.

I made a shorty out of my old weapon Mx exhaust just for the hell of it, and it suprisingly helped a lot! Brought the sound from 98 to 106 though haha.

I had a gt thunder pipe for my old crf laeger. The thing must have been about 6 inches long too. Was the best pipe i ever had. Did a db check and it was putting out 120DB. But someone rode in the back of my and smashed it up. Tried all sorts of different pipes after than but none was the same.

Generally, the shorter the silencer, the more top-end biased your powerband is going to be. But, it probably won't make a huge difference in power. The biggest difference will be the noise level.

top end is really what i am wanting. i have a RM-Z stock exhaust on my bike right now, and its robbing on top end.

i had a supertrapp shorty, damn that thing was loud but sounded great. Louder the better to me, if you all would have heard my mustang, you would understand why i say that lol

I had a supertrapp shorty w/ TC end cap. It was way too loud. I replaced the end cap w/ a supertrapp end w/ spark arrestor and 10 discs. I don't notice much difference, well, besides the noise.
