This is a stock tensioner that has had weld built up on the end so that you don't run out of adjustment as your chain stretches. The stock tensioner alone is too short and as soon as your chain stretches at all you will start to hear your chain slap. This might not be the absolute best way to fix the problem (buying a stronger aftermarket chain is), but this works and I've won several xc races using this custom tensioner. I no longer have a Z400.
