450r vs. 400ex

my buddy has a 04 400ex with a dg pipe and kn filter he cliams its run 86 mph and can out run my 450r.

my 450r is all stock except for air filter. i weigh 215 pounds he weighs 127 pounds.

what are the chances of him beating me

None. A K&N and a DG won't make you pick up 15 mph. :rolleyes:

His 400 is almost getting to 30hp and thats a big maybe. Even an older 450r has at least 37 horse stock. Unless your geared extremely low it shouldnt even be closefor top speed. He would have to almost double his horsepower to get anywhere near 86mph to push against the wind and drag.

when i had my stock 450r my buddy brought his stock 400ex over and we had a drag.

i weigh 140 and hes weighs closer to 200. id give him a split second headstart so he would beat me out of the hole, but my 3rd gear i was on him and pulling. only thing i can see is the weight difference and him also having a pipe would make a factor but it also depends what the distance is.

id say you might even still have him, but 86mph...NO WAY.. sorry

i have a speedometer on my 450r and with the same mods i have an easy 15mph+ on my buddies 400ex.

Theres always someone who says that their almost stock trail bike will do nearly 100 mph haha. Don't even bother listening to him
