Do they really make a difference? im debating on puttin one on my yfz because it is a kick start only now and its being a PITA to start when it gets hott.

I had to put one on my hybrid for hot starts when I'm at the dunes. Otherwise I'll can't stop unless I'm on top of a hill cuz it flat won't start

sounds like my bike. takes about 5mins to get it kicked over to start and cold it takes 1 kick maybe 2 kicks sometimes.

how many does it take to start it now with hot start?

i cant find a +1 or +2 hot start cable for my bike all they sale is std length. i had to put +2 clutch brake and throttle cables on mine for the +2 stem

My bike has one has a hot start I love it.

My hybrid with a stage 3 cam 43mm fcr port head and high compression( these will make it alot harder to start) starts 1st kick every single time hot or cold. Some people dont belive me but it really does.

Cold- pull choke no gas kick hard starts every time cold with choke.

Hot- pull hot start no gas fires right up idles high till you let off the hot start then drops to normal.

I tryed starting it with out either and it wont start.

got one on my full baldwin 14:1 honda 450r. Starts first or second kick. after run for a while or stalled it might take 5 kicks but it hasnt been and issue, oh btw HAVENT used the hot start at all. My buddy has one on his 450r also and hes had his since 04 and said hes used it maybe once

I still try and start without it, but after a few kicks i'll open mine up. I actually built mine, its a line running from the carb to my bars with a plug on the end

Hotstart is a must, especially in warmer temps and you stall it.

I use the hotstart, but my bikes will all start without it. Starting while warm has just as much to do with jetting and valves as it does the hotstart IMO.

what does a hot start do? how does it work? my buddy has one on his 05 450R and hes never used it....is it the opposite of a choke where you get more air and less gas?

It opens up an area for cold air to get sucked in instead of hot air.

when my crf is cold i just use the choke and no gas starts within 2 kicks when its hot it will start first kick with the hot start every time takes more kicks without using the hot start. when i had my yfz i was lookin into how to put one on it because the big high compression motor would get hot and be a pita to start
