View Full Version : is this a reliable xc set up

i have an 02 all it has as of now is a muzzy slip on not the best but works, skids ,kfx shock, etc. i was thinking abut getting a stage one hotcam and sparks key. how reliable will this be. i dont want to get into big bores because my dad wont let me and im only 15 so dont have much money thanks.

anybody? what is a good xc set up motor wise i know all the basics like skids and suspension but what about motor wise

the hot cam a key would be good also k&n filter with sirbox lid removed. jet the carburator and proboly get a better pipe maybe eve long travel a arms if you have enough cash

You don't need long travel. If I were you I would try and do a 450r carb, the hotcam, the air filter, and the key. You could do it all for about 300-350 and it would run great

what year carb and is there any reliability problems at all with any of this stuff, i already have a no toil filter

For xc I would look at a 04 or 05 carb. If I remember correctly they are smaller than the 06+. A lot of people run these carbs. I have never used one, but everyone that does swears by them. The things I mentioned before wont effect reliability as long you maintain your bike
