View Full Version : Choose my wheels?

Anyone wanna choose some wheels? excuse the poor photoshop. the wheels actually have a negative offset and a 12" wide tire so the tire will be pushed out three to four inches. The photoshop is just a rough chop.

here is a recent picture of my truck.
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k181/gcart2/SDC10479.jpg

here is how the truck will sit with the tires and wheels. same tires, different wheels.

Here are the wheels.
option 1.

Photoshop is pretty crude.lol. Honestly, I like the wheels, tires, and stance of the sample pic.

I'm not sure about black wheels on your truck, maybe because of the trim color?? So option 3 for me.

i like the black on black of number 2.

yea lol. since the "photoshop" pics my truck has been lifted 2.5"S (like the one in the sample pic) as you can see in my recent pic. its just not as obvious do to the fact i still have skinny tires on there.

you just have to see that i will have the SAME EXACT TIRE SETUP. just with different wheels in the ugly xd's place.

and i will be doing black a chrome handles off of a mark lt lincoln truck on mine to clean it up a tad. also tinting the tails. also since the photoshop pics i have blacked my heads.

option 2 for me. it also looks to have a bit more offset so it will widen it out too. steve

I picked 1... if not 1 then I would go with 2.

I think that you should take of the gold pinstripe and the gold side molding though. Will look much cleaner with the black wheels (or chrome if you decide to go that route). If you get the black wheels, and also black out the chrome on the bumpers.... Mmmm that would look good.

i picked 2, but really i would rock either one of the black wheels. and like the other guy said, ditch the pin stripes.

but your truck is gonna look sick. post pics when you get it done:macho

2 or 3. I'm biased for a big lip. :o If I could get a 12" wide wheel with 1" backspace I'd be all over it. Of course, I don't think I want to shorten the rear end on my Camaro that much. :p

no sir im not doing a black out. everyone and there dog has it. the gold"molding" is actually paint. it would cost me a pretty penny to lose it, ive tried. black bumpers with tan two tone, no no. thanks for your opinion though.

Painting what i got would be ugly. Not to mention it would make my tires rub on my control arm.

What are your plans for the truck? If i where you i would lift it a couple inches and do the 20x12's in chrome with 33x13.50 tire. I actually changed my truck a bit from the last time you have seen it. It now has a white Harley grille, which ford never made, and 20x12 welds and 35's. I think the 12's will look WAY better than 20x9s. Do it right the first time and get the 12's. I bet if you get 20x9 wheels you will realize a year from now that they dont look that special and will end up buying a new set. Trust me

edit : your right everyone and there mother is going for the blacked out look now. Dont get me wrong it looks good, but starting to get a bit played out. Plus i think few people actually pull off the blacked out look well. You have tan 2-tone, keep it classy, its a nice truck make it timeless.

I would have to do a 4" suspension lift to clear 35's and with 12" wide wheels and a -25mm offset, chop my fenders to pieces. no thanks. 12" wide wheels is not an option. im doing 32x12x20's with 20x9 wheels. -12mm wheels will give it a nice wide stance.

What is the backspacing on those wheels?

Also 4" of lift wont clear 35's on 12's. I have 6" of lift on a SD and mine still rubs a bit. But on the 33s or 32s you should be good to clear them. My vote is for the Fuel hostage 20x12's.

i dont think it would look good. 32x12" tires with 20x12" wheels. it would look stretched dont you think?>

I have seen quite a few trucks on 22x14 with a 37x13.50 and it looks pretty good, so 32x12 on a 20x12 should be fine. If you go with a 33x13.50 it will look awesome. Its kinda like the central cal look, except those guys do like 10in of lift and 20x12's with 33's. Yours would at least look proportional if you lift it just the right amount.

Even if you go with a 20x10 just make sure the backspacing is at most 4.5" . Less backspacing = tires and rims sticking out more. You want to have a nice mean stance.

Also i know you mentioned before about having a -12mm offset, that is not going to be much of a lip. My wheels are -44mm offset just to give you something to compare to.

what you dont get is the scrubbing. when i turn to the left for example. the farther out my tire is the farther back my driver tire will move. same with the passenger tire but forward. with a 0mm offset the tirs stay centered, they dont swivel. with a 0mm offset the tire moves left and right but not any forward and backwards. if i have 4.5" of backspace with a 10" wide wheel, -24mm offset, i will be cutting it very, very close. it mayyy just be doable and im researching that now. however a 12" wide wheel, not even close. i want to do a 10" wide wheel now with the wide offset.

but again, with a 12" wide wheel and 12" wide tire, lol thats just homo. not my style. that **** can stay in cali.

The 10s will look good. I had 20x10 with 4.5" backspacing and -24mm offset. They looked good, i think they would look even better on a 150 like yours with a smaller tire like what your going for.
