cdi box question???

i'v been told that if you put a stage 2 rev box on my 400ex you have to put on heavier valve springs is that true? and will it lose alot of engine life?

that is false. could possibly reduce engine life if ran on the new higher rev limiter for extended periods of time due to higher revs. imo it is the biggest waste of money for a 400. it will never make enough hp up that high to need an extra limit on it. steve

Yea that false...I would be the only reason you have been told that is because with the rev box your limiter will be another 1000 rpm or so higher and new and heavier springs would help the motor rev that high...if you ever seem to have trouble pulling the rpm even to the stock rev limit your valve springs are probably weak... I see it all the time in race motors people complain they aren't turning enough rpm and its beacause the springs are wore out.
