over heating

Hi i was wondering if anyone ran into this problem we have a 2003 sportsman 500, the fan wont turn on while driving it but when you shut it off and turn the key back on it works, so is the switch bad and if so where is it at? also the coolant in the overflow tank gets very full and starts bubbling a lot if anyone can help that would be great, thanks

I don't havethe same quad as you I have a Polaris 850xp eps but it sounds like antifreeze isn't circulating well and that could be an impeller or the water pump isn't working correctly or is going bad that's my opion and if you take it to the dealer which you would probably have to anyways I bet they'll say it's the water pump

well i will look into that, for the time being i just hard wired the fan to a switch and haven't had any more trouble with it yet, but some day il flush it out and look at the pump, thanks
