Ok I've got a quick question for anyone who has used caliper adapters. Is it absolutely necessary to buy the $200 adapters....?? or is there some way to rig R calipers on EX spindles...

There isnt a way to do it. I had to buy the Baldwin mounts on mine. Mo:(

the R brake caliper and disk are smaller right which increases ground clearence. correct me if im wrong

True, but if you run the smaller rotor you need more leverage or area on the rotor to stop it, thats why the R has twin piston calipers. I'm transfering over to EX spindles myself on my R. They are alot more durable than the R spindles.

Well the reason I'm wonderin is cuz I think the front end I might get requires EX spindles...but anyone ever use stock R spindles on a Lobo II front end???

racerx-the lobos require a 400 frontend, dont know why, the ball joints should have the same taper.....maybe thers other reasons

What good is this gonna do ya?? You gonna run a smaller sprocket too? You run without a swingarm skidplate??

I think renegade was referring to the rear rotor.

my point was, there is no ground clearance gained from running a smaller rotor, unless u run a smaller rear sprocket without a skid,,.

Also I wouldnt suggest switching to a 250R rear caliper because your rear brakes can only stop so fast, usally they are locked up and are slowing as fast as possible. I do reccomend buying a new EX rotor as the stocker heats up easily and warps.

You gain more brake rotor ground clearance. I think thats what he meant.
