Okay, 450's are going for that. Let's hear the whole list of parts, work performed, year of the machine and why it's worth that. I see $1800 at best, let me know what I'm not seeing here.

gladly, smart ***.

-Laeger's +2 a-arms ($675)
-Works triple rate shocks ($460)
-ITP Baja 10" wheels ($160)
-Douglas 8" beadlocks ($200)
-Curtis Sparks CDI ($200)
-Curtis Sparks exhaust ($400)
-PEP rebuildable steering stabilizer, WITH rebuild kit ($80)
-Durablue X-33 axle ($680)
-Clarke 2.7 gallon PLASTIC tank, no crappy rusty tank here ($170)
-RAD axle nute ($50)
-Tag T2 bars w/oversized mounts ($120)
-Burgard tie-rods ($50)
-older LSR bearing carrier ($100)
-Galfer SS front brake lines ($180)
-Pro Armor MX 450r bumper ($110)
-LSR E-brake block ($20)
-Powroll clear vented airbox lid ($40)
-old Graydon Proline nerf bars ($75)
-old Maier race-cut front plastics ($100)
-old UFO rear plastics ($150)

that's not including the price of parts for the 88/89 250r swinger/shock/etc., 400ex carb, 400ex spindles/calipers/hubs, and random other parts.

edit: also, engine work is unknown because the kid i bought it off of purchased the bike from a kid that raced and didn't care to ask what was done to it. for all i know, it could have a 330 kit, crazy P&P, or a high-comp piston. don't know. but i do know that it walked past a friends 400ex with my high trail gearing installed and stays a little behind my brothers 250r. here's a link to an older F/S thread with a full parts list. http://www.exriders.com/vbb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=431609

Yeah sure but most of that money was spent just trying to get it to handle right, like a modern quad. That's not money you're ever going to get back. The body is rough and not knowing what the motor is does not equal a plus either. Not trying to be a dick, although I realize I am, you might be better off parting out this rig.

i still fail to see how 2400 or best offer is an unfair price? considering there is over 4k in aftermarket, then the quad itself, 2400 is more than fair.

and yeah, you're right. 450's can be found for around the 2500-3000 range... and most of them are stock, the early generations with porblems, and beaten to hell by dumb teenagers who didn't care to keep up with maintenance.

I'm just trying to save you some time and I know you'll make more parting. It really wouldn't matter if you had 6k in it. When we build these toys up we should already know we're tossing money down the drain. In northern IL/ southern WI if you shop around even for 1 weekend 2500 can get you some real nice rides.

Last 2 picked up around here were in great shape. One was for my buddy an 05 450r with an fmf, Tag fat bars, blingstar heal guards stock everything else not even scratches on the bottom for $2400. The oem tires still had the nubs. Last fall I picked up an 05 Predator 500 in almost equally nice shape with nerfs, new holeshots, a custom header with a PC exhaust and not to mention those Fox shocks are no joke. Both of those machine are far faster then any 330 and they handle as nice as you can build an ex.

Not to say you couldn't find "the right" buyer but if you really need over 2k better start turning some wrenches. Good deals are everywhere and the economy is not in your favor.

I would have to agree with trx on this one. My kids race the Nationals and I built a complete race quad for 2500 its a 300 just like yours. I even took alot of your ideas and put them on mine. I sold 7500 cobra quads for 2000. No one has money. They will however upgrade what they have. With you list of goodies I see you making at least what you are asking for the whole thing. It sucks but we do what we have to in these trying times. I would be interested in a few of your parts.

mine is an 08 with very little mods and i wouldn't sell for less than 2600. this quad is race ready and he can sell for whatever he likes.and 300's are just as modern as any 250,350 or 400 out there. i would say its the 3rd best quad of all time in my book!

Same here. It is a very nice quad. Times are tough and I am interested in some of the parts. Let me know if you don't sell it whole. I am from Indiana and will pass the word around here that you have a good deal on your quad to try to help out.

came with the bike when i purchased it. probably meant for a 250r or the like. i just bolted it up to the steering stem then a bolt for an engine mount. worked out perfectly. you can kind of see it in this image (it's the silver thing): http://i45.tinypic.com/2v8pkt1.jpg

ya prolly for the 250r because its the closest frame to the 300, i think?! another question, you have the 250r rear end, correct? how does the durablue axle not make it too wide if the 250r is wider to begin with, plus another 4?

lowered price to $1800 and doubt i'll go any lower. next step would be to part it but i REALLY don't want to do it.
