losing power

Need some help. I have a DRR 90 a/c high comp, ZTR 1500 torque, 1500 clutch springs, dr pulley variator, bando 787 belt and 30 gr roller weight and koso adj. clutch. Quad runs strong, good hole shots but after 3-4 laps it looses power, acts like it is stuck in high. Any suggestions?

drop your roller weights 1/4g per roller. that should let the ZTR last a bit long giving you 4-5 solid laps. its overheating and losing tension, that is what is causing the "stuck in high" effect. you could also try adding some more cooling to your CVT cover.

Excess heat will cause your rear spring to fail quickly. Be sure that your clutch cover is vented and don't try to pull too high a gear and overwork the clutch.
