starter solinod test

any one know how to test the solinod and starter wiring correctly, or know were to find a wiring diagram. the starter is ok if you short the post she starts, but I was not sure how to test the switch, it shows a short when i push it with the wiring unhooked at the solinod. but was not sure what i should at the other four wires, any help is appreciated thanks Bill

if you can bypass the solenoid by touching the 2 together then its a fuse or the solenoid its self. if the solenoid makes any ticking or buzzing noise when u hit the button then its fine.

thanks for info, I believe that its is solinoid but was not sure how to test the neutral safty switch, I have ordered a solinoid, just did not want to buy unneccisary parts. thanks Bill
