Back in 1998 I built a laeger 250rx. Just wanted to see if anyone was still riding one or still has one. If so could you post some pic of it. Thanks

if i had to guess either a 250r with a 250x engine or a 250x with a 250r motor

I'm going to guess it is a modified 250r chassis with a 250x motor. I think those motors could be punched out to a 410. Weren't too many performance quads around then with a 4 stroke motor, besides crap and the 250x.

Yep back in the day (pre 1999) before the 400ex came out. Some racers would install 250x, 300ex, or 350x motors in 250r frames.
There were also some aftermarket frames built. 250r geometry with motor mounts for the popular X motors.
I used to have a 350rx. 1986 250r frame with 1986 atc 350x motor.
There is an aftermarket framed 300ex for sale in the classified section now.

well it seems as he had a laeger's frame so it was an actual hybrid frame. Id like to see pics of it

Kinda what I figured but then I thought why wouldnt you just keep the 250r motor?

I could see a 350rx being pretty sweet.

I guess back then 250x motors were modded quite a bit.

honestly probably depends on the class ran also. A bored, cammed, and ported 350x motor on a 250r chassis would be on hell of a fun bike

I always liked the super trick 350X motors that were made into 427s. Some of you know what I'm talking about, most won't.

When I built mine I didn't have a 250r engine for the frame. I bought a rolling chassis and I found a 350x motor which needed a rebuild.
I put a stroker crank and larger piston. I can't remember the specs on the parts but I remember the cc's came to about 400. Then we slightly ported and polished the head. The motor ran good and was a real torque monster. Here is an old pic I dug up.
I sold it a long time ago.

Oh yeah also I remember back in the 90s there were four stroke classes at the nationals. Of course back then there wasn't very much to choose from to race a four stroke class so that is why the rx's were built. Using the best handling chassis of that time along with the 250x, 300ex, 350x motors which were fairly easy to modify and could get some decent power out of them.
