I just recently came across two ktm 300 mxc's and im more of a quad guy i love the power of the 2 stroke 300 ktm is pretty reliable my question is what chassis platform should I go with?I love the style of the trx 250r and the 400ex id like to use either one but im just wondering if everything would line up good on either chassis im looking for some input. Im building it for rodeos and mx woods racing.

Chances are, nothing will line up. You'll have to fabricate mounts and whatnot.
If I recall, none of the KTM two strokes are counterbalanced, so you'll run into the same vibration issues as anyone who does a two stroke dirt bike to quad engine swap: vibrations.

Ive seen on you tube ways to fab up spacers for the sprockets . And as for the vibration i can put rubber mounts in with the mounting locations that will help out not to mention some flexx bars . I think my biggest worry is making sure the kicker has room to kick but there are people who added kick start extensions to the kick shaft. Of course these were other motors i guess it will be trial by fire .

you have to get another kick shaft cut it off where the splines stop and then get another knuckle and cut the part that goes over the the shaft off then weld them together

vibration from the motor not being counterbalanced goes a whole lot farther than flex bars and rubber spacers the motor will actually vibrate motor mount bolts and anythig else thats not lock washered and or loc tited i built a crf hybrid everything aftermarket my motor was 2500 and built to the roof which kinda makes it worth it after getting over on a friends kxf 250 but when u have to put it back together after riding or u start losing parts because u just had to get out of the box it starts to really get frustrating but it is fun to build use a 400ex chassis cheap and easy to find and get parts for do a 250r u may start spending a little more ............ and like i said my motor is stupid built so maybe u wont have it quite as bad but keep it in mind im already wanting something stock so i dont have to worry about it coming apart
