What are the pros and cons of a honda 400ex and raptor? I want to race XC are MX :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused: :confused:

order a back issue of dirtwheels...they will tell you everything you need to know...if you want mx i would build a 400...if you want xc i would build a 400...thats just me...they have been around longer. raptors are nice though

I've never been on a 400, but I do own a raptor. I can tell you this much....stock versus stock, the raptor will smoke the 400 speed-wise. My buddy had a 400 and I blew him away every time. However, I really don't like the raptor, because it has a high center of gravity. It always feels like it's gonna roll. Plus you can't keep the front end down when you get on it.

If you're gonna build something up, I'd probably go with the 400. I like Yamaha's, so I personally wouldn't buy a 400.

Id say it is an easy choice of a 400ex or Cannibal.......raptor is out of the picture!

Man as far as reliability and being able to win a race i would go with a 400. They are pretty quick and handle extremely well.
U don't see many ppl racing raptors out of enduro because of poor handling.

Yea a raptor does not have as sharp of a turning radius.....but with a 400ex you can just whip the @$$ end around

if racing is your thing, 400ex for sure. If you wanna play ride and just mess around the 400ex and raptor are both great for that but I think the raptor is funner for play riding.

well everything breaks on raptors when u mx, i dunno about xc, the features of the raptor sure soundnice for a xc racer:)

i would go with the 400 for pure racing and i would still go for the 400 for messing around on just because of the relablity issues the raptor had had.

the raptor is a fun bike to go out and just ride, but for racing i would go with the 400. my brother bought a raptor last feb. but liked the way my 400 handled better, so he bought a 400 and the raptor stays home on race day (xc races). too much work to keep the frontend down on the raptor.
