Well the subframe on my prp had seen better days to say the least, it had been wrecked hard a few times, had been bent and cracked and fixed one to many times.

So since Zeb was too busy i decided to just build it myself. In hindsight i would have waited to use the correct tools for the job but i had it in my head that i needed to do it last weekend. It did turn out good and rides SOOOO much better,.

The plan was to #1=lower the seat height 1.5-2" than what it currently was. Ive always had troubles in the corners with this bike and i blamed it on the seat height. #2= change the airbox/intake setup (went with a easier to obtain 400ex setup) #3= mount the airbox better( used 4 tabs with shouldered screws and nyloc nuts) #4 change the hinge design so that IF i was to wreck it agian it wouldnt have any funny business to get bent up in the back.

I used 3/4" and 1/2" .065 wall 4130 chromoly tubing and then threaded pipe adapters with 5/16-24 heim joints for adjustable mounting to get the height just perfect.

Enough talk here is how it turned out

BTW it turned out to be about 1.8" lower which made a HUGE difference in how corfortable i feel in the corners.

Nice work. I'm thinking of putting my hybrid in the QOTM too, there is power in numbers ;).

its almost the same bike. only thing that still there from when i get it from you is the frame, swinger, plastic, stem, nerfs, seat and rear brakes... everything else has been changed out.

what happened to the hood??

i endo'd the bike at a tqra race at NTMX going through the rythem section. Some moron had cut the track and rolled up on the last double and by the time i saw him when i was coming over the first jump it was tooo late so instead of jumping the second one and landing on his *** i slammed on the brakes and cased it.

so the hood has a tear up one side where it was smashed. Ive also quit running the tank cover because it leaks too much gas with it on there.
