I wanted to try a wire inlay...accomplished with only 2 holes in my finger :censored:

Secondly, I wanted to try a colored inlay but what to use what to use???????? I started reading and saw all the fancy stuff online, crushed stone turtle butt etc etc then saw coffee grounds, but heck they had to be dry. I was about to give up when i walked past my cabinet that holds about 200 pounds of powder for powder coating.

Ummmm......

So a mix of superglue and Shimmering Candy red powder were concoted and there she be. It does shimmer in the light LMAO!! Call isnt finished but I cant work on it again till I come back off this weekends assignment

Did you ever try and just PC the wood Pap? I seen on a home improvement show where a couple had there kitchen cabinets powdercoated, it looked rather nice.

Just a thought.

Naaa...I know they can coat wood now but its a slightly differnt set up then for metal...and these call bodies are thin and would warp badly:p

a local bar just put in new tables and they had a bunch of designs burnt into the wood...for instance the would heat up a horse shoe and then stick it to the wood leaving the imprint and than varnish over it...ever tried that?

Im too shakey to do alot of wood burning with my kit:p And I try not to add distractions to the wood but ive seen some stunning work done.

I just finished this burnt Hedge set.

They work in the right hands. You need to know how to call a gobbler in. The imitate the sounds of an hen during mating season for the turkeys. Of course its an art by itself making game calls. Looks like Pappy has it down pretty good.:macho
