if you had to put a new piston in your race quad, what type and comp ratio would you use and why?

I run a 14:1. It seems to just be good all around

Blaine is that a cp? and how many hours do you go between ring changes? Im currently running 13.5 je and have it apart now,and im trying to decide if ill get any more out of the 14.1. is that a 2 ring setup(1compression 1oil)?the je im using has 3 rings and they still look good after about 75 hours

Your not going to see much gain on the butt-dyno from .5 points of compression. But then again, you already having to run race gas for the 13.5:1, so it's not going to cost you anymore in that sense. 3 rings will last longer than a 2 ring design.

I've been running the Venom piston for 2 years now and like it.

venom piston, 12.25:1
(so I can still run pump gas)

I had venom port/polish and +1 valves with ss valves and springs about 2 years ago and its still running strong

i run a je 12 to 1 in mine, bit more performance and reliability is a issue.im not sure if the added stress on the rod from higher compression is worth the reliability trade off for a bit more performance.but thats just me though:)

I haven't changed them since I put it in, which is about 10-15 hours of riding and its still running strong

I run a CP 14:1, no issues in a full season so far.

I ran a 14.1 JE. Rebuilt it every season. Never gave me problems just put a new one in every winter to keep it fresh for the next year.

I put a 12:1 CP in mine this winter and I noticed a decent gain compared to the stock 10.5:1. What I like about that compression ratio is I can run pump gas when I'm just messing around or I'll mix it will race gas if I'm racing. I only race in the beginners class for ITP quadcross but I took both holeshots at round one.

I ran a JE 13.5:1 I think it was either a dasa spec or sparks spec. Worked great for me never had any problems.
