Well i picked this up not too long ago. had ltr450 fenders on it that flopped and broke. Cut up seat. Bent bars. And a bad tank.

So far i have fixed the tank, bars and ripped the plastics off for now.

Im getting a bunch of new parts next week for her and hopefully tearing it down to paint it since the idiot rattle canned a lot of it.

Let me know what you think, she looks like hell but shes a damnnn good runner.

Also a picture of my little dog named brutus in his play stance running around.

Scratch that guys. Im keeping the quad its too much fun to ride and than just sell.

Just got a newer rear swinger in amazing shape. Lsr carrier. Billet sprocket holder. Wave rotor. New sprocket. Dura blue axle. Itp holeshots that are new on amazing factory rims. Works dual rate front shocks.

Selling the stock rear stuff now.

Whats a good shock for the rear that wont break the bank? What would the jetting be for a stock piped with uni with a 400ex carb?

Still hoping to paint it possilby or wait for winter and have my buddy powder coat it.

Pics of parts tomorrow.

That's a lot of carb for a stock 250x :ermm:

What you got is a borderline basket case. I know what I would do with it but before anyone can "share the love" it would help to know what your plans are with it. Just a play bike? A money pit? Entry level 250 class racer?

What did you pay for it?

you could NOT sell this quad, ever, never, EVER

a homeless guy would see your quad, and keep his shopping cart instead

wait, the homeless guy would poop on it, and the next day you would say man, i think my quad gained 5 HP

THERE ... is the Mc Lovin

I undertsand. Once i get a pipe and some motor mods i know it will work fine.

Everything is there, but plastics and tiny things. Im planing on doing some harescrambles and little mx here and there. I payed 500 for it with out the works, moose bars, msr clutch lever, new swinger, durablue axle, lsr carrier, rear holeshots.

It was a deal for me. The bike has more power than my old 250x did.

Today i went riding and the swingarm bearings gave out so that gives me a reason to order new ones and a steering bushing to put my new rear end on!

Put works on and what a diffrence. My stock ones fell apart when they came out ahahahahaha.

Im just going to wait till winter to fully tear it down. I wanna ride all summer and ill be working so i can buy new parts!

And my friend hooks me up on powdercoating so i will have him do the parts.

Whats a nice shock for the rear that wont murder my wallet? Now that i got some nice fronts id like a better rear even though the stock isnt too bad.

Im sorry i find it fun taking ****ty quads and make them nice again!

If you want me to have a nice quad than you bring your rich *** here and buy me one. I buy what i can afford.

Better than nothing.

Its kids like you that make atv and mx riders get a bad rep. The little douchebag kids. Are you one that rides on the street and messes with neighbors and cops?

Does anyone know if the 300ex 330 kits work on a 250x? From what i understand they will, because the motors are the same just a 250x has a smaller stroke. I know a 300ex head will work, cam ect. Just not sure about cylinder and piston.

Just not sure about cylinder and piston. Yes the 80mm or "330" kit works but due to the shorter stroke of the 250x the result will be a 288. You will need to get a kit from someone like 4 stroke tech too. If you buy a kit like the one powroll sells you'll have to machine the case halves and that's entirely unnecessary with the right parts.

I had a 92 250x years ago and I know it's a fun bike but just remember due to the market availability of far better machines almost every dollar you put into this quad you will never get back out of it. If I were you I would cap all spending at $1200 including the purchase price. Spend wisely my friend. Besides an exhaust, plastic and some 400ex a-arms I wouldn't get too involved.

Alright i may just got with a cam, valves and springs and a high compression piston.

Sad thing is there are still 250x/300exs around here that go for 2000 completely stock and beat up. I planned on making it under 1500 total. I plan on keeping the quad for a long time haha.

I did the 288 on mine and you're right by thinking just doing a high comp on the stock sleeve. Pick up a 76mm and you can do a 260cc with what you have. I ran the 12:1 wiseco with a 50/50 mix of 105 and 93 with great results. The head is highly restricted on the exhaust side. When you get into it take a look. There will be sizable humps in the exhaust ports that you'll want to remove. As far as the cam you're lucky! When I built mine my only choice was hard weld cams requiring hardened rockers. You can pick up a hotcam and drop it right in. Just check your spring lengths, you might not even need anything else.

Got a big question guys!

Whats a decent header? I just traded my nerfs for a fmf slip on and i know the headers are too restrictive as there a 90' angle.

ALSO!

Do 400ex nerf bars fit? I really want some pro pegs.

Well im trading tomorrow. He told me it was a stock header but from the pic it is the fmf too. So thats good.

I Heard 400ex/250r propegs can fit a 300ex with no mods?

I Heard 400ex/250r propegs can fit a 300ex with no mods? It's possible I guess but your frame is a lot smaller then a 400 or 250.

Ive seen people with them on there 250x's. I just want some nicer nerfs. I hated the square design dg's.

I can tell you that the regular 400ex ac racing ones DON'T fit. It hit the front tires when you turn, And it was too close to the rear tires if i mounted them on the backside of the pegs...
Mine is a 1987 250x

Alright im probably getting some Ac's.

Builds going good. Traded them nasty dg nerfs for a FULL FMF today!! So stoked i dont have to waste 300 on a pipe. Also got some jets. Scott grips. Factory effex numbers for 92. And some stickers.

Build is coming right along and all budgeted too. Get new parts and sell old ones is working nicely.

Here are new part pics. Plan on shortening the end down about half an inch. Also polish it up nice.
