airbox lid

ok im thinking about removing my airbox lid and was wondering if it made that much of a difference and im running a 155 main now with hmf full sport series spark advance key k&n air filer where should i be without the lid Thanks

Removing the lid makes a big difference. It improves throttle response quite a bit.

Don't change any jetting just yet. Do a quick test first.

Warm it up and take a short ride with the lid on. Hit it wide open a few times.

Then take the lid off and take it for a ride and see how it runs. If it runs better, then you were jetted just a tad rich for when you had the lid on and may be ok for running with the lid off.

If it runs worse with the lid off and makes a little bit of a popping sound when you go wide open, then the jetting is lean.

If you have to make jetting changes go one size at a time.
