well i finished my build and i got the bike started i ran it for maybe 2 minutes at most at idle. it shut off on its own and i noticed some knocking so i drained the fuel i drained the bowl as well.and poured in some fresh gas at 32:1. and i cant get it to fire. plug comes out wet

I have a 38 a/s 50 pilot 180 main
89 bottom end 86 cylinder lrd mx port with spacer plate 86 piston
k&n filter
cr reeds
lrd pipe
170 compression
br8es plug

Was the knocking like marbles in the engine? Do you have spark? if not you could have lost your CDI,coil, or stator. If you have spark what is your compression?

i got 170 compression tested after it wouldnt start. i dont mean knocking like stuff breaking i ment like pinging. but i will check the stator today.

not sure if this is your first R but they all have a slight ping sound that comes from the motor and it is normal could be the noise u hear? as for not starting most likely eletrical cdi, stator? also check the wire that goes into spark plug cap u might strip it back a little

i had the same exact problem. i still had spark but was really weak.

so i got a new cdi and ignition coil and fired right up.

What i meant by marbles is sometimes a real bad bing will sound like marbles rolling around. If you got pinging it most likely means the electrical could not keep up with the engine. If you have a book you can check the stator with a ohms meter. CDI and coil you just usually have to replace. There is a testing procedure for the coil but it still does not tell the whole story.
