Just wondering if anyone has had problems burning there clutch cable? I have an oversize oil tank and aftermarket header and can't seem to route my cable without problems! Any advice??

How long does it take to burn one up?

2-3 or so rides, the outer sheathing melts on the header despite my attempts to keep it out of the way

Either wrap ur Exhust wrap or make a tab to hold it. I wraped my Whole exhust And also don't burn pants. Other plus

Could try covering it in heat tape they use for furnace vents.

A 250x cable will route over the frame, that is the other option.

It's exhust wrap for street bikes or like exhust for a turbo car.

Tried the exhaust wrap but had to take it off when I last removed the head pipe, bit expensive though! The 250 cable, is it the same as the 250ex? Or the 250r?

IT's a 250X... do not confuse it for the EX... They made from the 80's to 92 i believe...

Oh ok thanks, I'll look into trying to find one, and does it fit without any problems?

i have the 250x cable on my 400, its just like the 400ex cable just longer, bolts on with no issues what-so-ever, just buy yourself a new one from honda and be done with it, its only 13 bucks, and if you route it right no more burnt cables

One of the front motor mounts is supposed to have a little wire ring that you run your cable through. I lost mine and just ran the cable between the two headers, and it does fine

I have that wire on mine but the oversize oil tank and my pro circuit header doesn't leave the same room as stock tank and header, running a longer cable seems to be the best solution!
