Urgent Please HELP engine problem

i just put the motor back together because i had to replace the counter shaft. now that the motor is back in the frame it idles fine but at high RPMs it is missing and has no power at all. i thought it was the timing but everything is exactly how the service manual says it should be. any help is appreciated

did you replace the CDI?

most commone problem would be the needle in the carb. They are bad about dropping. They will idle fine but have no power.

No i didnt replace the cdi, and ill try checking the needle tonight. ill let you kno how it goes

You could try a compression test and see if the gas is flowing past the rings>>?? Goodluck

thanks for the help but i guess i figured it out, i removed the cam cahin tensioner and retimed it and it runs great again guess it was off just a little bit

good deal, I was gonna sugest swapping cdi with somebody. Glad you found the problem.
