I just bought a 2006 450ER from a forum member here. Thanks rrguy. Anything I should know about the difference between the 06 that is totally different than the 04/05's? (Of course the E-start)

Any obvious differences? Longer swingarm? Any problems I should know about?

Much appreciated.

the 06-up swinger is longer, top a-arms and spindles i beleive are differe(04/05 have better handling and can be swapped) the bottom ends are different in the 06-up and also use different pistons and have different compresions stock than the 04/05. i also believe ive heard somewhere that one set(cant remember whick years it is)pegs set lower than the other. the 04/05 grab bar wont work becasue of different exhaust mounts. thats all i can think of right now, correct me if im wrong everybody.

some more- the 04/05 plastics can be used, but to use the backs, you need the heat shield that goes under the tank. 06-up use a different carb that has a more snappy feel mainly used more for mx, xc riders put the 04/05 carb on 06-ups for a more smooth, rolled on power. the 06-up can have the green wire mod that if snipped i think will add a higher rpm range achievable. im sure theirs more that i can think of later, lol. but i feel this is pretty good for a second take. haha:p

Just a tip, when starting the 450ER, don't give it gas! Otherwise, you might find yourself buying a starter clutch kit. Granted, it might happen regardless, but just less chance.
