bunch of 400ex questions

ok well im building a 400ex and before i start i need to get some awnsers. if i got with a 416 bore 11:1 pistion on 93 pump gas will i need the hd head studs? will i need the bigger oil cooler setup? will i need a 450 carb, or will the stock one properly jetted work without lossing hp?

imo you will be fine with no head studs. teh 400 carb will work just fine, most run it as i have done in the past. if you are not in the dunes or somewhere hot most of the time there is really no need for the bigger cooler either. jetting suggestion is 172 main, 2nd notch on the needle, 40 pilot and 2.5 turns out on f/a screw. steve

i have a 440 weisco 11.1 piston. stage 3 hotcams. full hmf competition exhaust. 4"spal fan. k&n filter with outerwears and outerwear lid. it just pulled 35 hp 26 LB torque. no hd head studs or anything. just have cometic gasket kit.
