i was thinking about putting a 7 inch 80w fan on my 440 to keep it cool. the head light wire was cut and taped off as it didnt have any head lights. can i wire this fan into the head light wire and is 80w too much on the stator without any lights??

I think you would be better off with a spal fan.

I got one in prep for my 416 build and although I have not used yet, just powering it up that thing MOVES air like nobody's business.

i have been considering the spal fans but i am just wondering if it will support 80w of power??

I am not sure, stock output for a 400ex is roughly 150 watts @ 5000 rpm.

So yea it should support it.

i read somewhere else that the battery needs 48w to charge so that would make sense at 5000 rpm lol but at idle or slow speeds when the fan is needed most it could pose a problem. the 7 inch i found pulls 1500 cfm. smallest radiator fan i could find other than spals

80w is 6.67 amps. the whole system runs off a 10 amp fuse. the 4" spal only uses 1 amp. they also make a 5.5 fan that might draw 1.5 amps. someone on here has one so it must work. i cant see you needing more than that.
