I need to know how to rebuild the rod bearings on the crank from someone who has done it. I know that i can get a hotrods but im curious

I would suggest sending it out to be done. Remind you when it's pressed back together after the new rods and bearings are installed it needs to be trued...This isn't something that can be done in your back yard for a first timer..imo

the stock cranks are junk the hot rods crank are twice as good:o

Yamaha uses a better metal than Hot Rod cranks.....Check your local machine shop for pricing, in my area it's $275 for a rebuild with weld and trued.

To true a crank it takes a dial caliper with the correct crank stand to spin it on, and the most important tool is the brass hammer you beat the crank with to make the crank fall within spec....Not a practice for a beginer!!!!

My Hot Rod crank was out of true freshly out of the box....I would have liked to stroke a stock crank but it's over twice as much as a Hot Rod stroked crank.
