View Full Version : Engine Thread Strip

I was replacing the shims in my KFX 400 and the Dumb *** before didn't use to torque wrench to put the cam bolts in .............which in result caused one of the threads to break and come out with the bolt....
The picture below shows what bolt it is. I know there are somethings that I can use to rethread it but I know a lot of it doesn't hold for long into it becomes undone again. Any suggestions ? At this point this quad has been a pain and Im about to sell it soon.

Anyone Use HeliCoil before ? Does it work well? Thanks

yes they work great i rebuild automotive transmissions for a living and use them all the time very easy to install and they stay in for ever. i would defenitly recommend heli coils

yeah helicoils work very well, and shouldnt come out for sometime.

I picked up the bolts and the helicoil kit today before school.Ill be putting it in later tonight when I get home.
