04 motor. when to do the valves etc..

alright so i blew up my 05 race motor and got an 04 stock on. the thing has never even been opend up. should i check the valves cuz it seems fine to me when i took it to the track. the only thing i noticed was that it didnt pull super hard up the faces of jumps. and after 6years do you think it needs new a new crank. i know it needs a piston but that can wait till the season is over.

If I were you id tear the entire motor apart and go through it all. Replace all the bearings, crank, piston/rings, and re-hone the cylinder, check your valves etc. Also do the oil upgrade while your in there. 6 years is a long time and preventative maintenance goes a long way.

well i plan on doing that at the end of the season. but idk
i dont have the time between races to do that.
