Is it worth it to put in SS intake valves only on the 04? I know they get chewed up and I see complany selling parts to do the intake only.

you realize that all your valves are already SS, the 04-05 bikes have steel intake and Ex valves, 06+ have Ti intakes. If your valves are bad then replace them and get a valve job done to the seats

Agreed. Make sure you have your seats cut. Otherwise, your valves won't last half as long.

I'm sure somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think 04-05 OEM valves are stainless steel, I believe they are just oxide coated steel.

I'm pretty sure they are stainless steel, but I could be wrong as well.

that might be true, but the stock intake valves in the 04-05 hold up good, not like the Ti valves.

If you are not using a highly aggressive cam, there's no reason to go to stiffer springs. You can reuse your springs otherwise.

is there anything wrong with your valves, did they tighten up alot? if they didnt they i wouldnt bother, or tear the head apart and check the seat and valve surfaces for pitting. if your going to replace the valves, and the bike is an 04 i would just replace the springs too, stock is fine unless you have a web or something big in it
