Well i think im gona buy a 450r but i dont know if i should keep my 426ex or not, i would hate to see it sit and collect dust

If i would get a 450r with the big3 (pipe, air filter, and idk what the other is but ill say cam and jets) do u think my 400 would just sit or what?

I just want some opinions from some of you that have both a 400 and a 450 or that went from a 400 to a 450, how much of a difference was it?

Thanks for any of your opinions i just hate so see the old 400 sit

I had both, a 400 and 450. After about a year of owning my 450 i could never ride the 400 and have as much fun. I sold my 400 for $2700 and i miss it but if i still had it i think it would sit in the garage all the time and never get ridden. I would rather take the money while you can...the longer you have it the older it gets and the lower the value gets. Just sayin

I just dont no im still working on my 426 i bought it as a basket case and just finished it, it was my first 4stroke rebuild and deffinitly seemed to work just fine, im just putting on some finishing touches and will put my cr250 up for sale after the 426 is finished and broke in

But still dont know if i will get a 450, i love my 426 but i do like the 450s and if i sold my cr and my 426 i could buy a 450 and still have some money for upgrades

2000 cr250
New rebuild top to bottom, still pushing close to 165lbs of compression
Full race tech suspension
Pro taper bars/grips/and triple clamp
V-force reeds and cage
Black rims
Black acrebis plastic
One industies graphics and gripper seat cover
Full pro circuit pipe but has dent
Polished Frame(not in pic)
New levers
extra levers
Flywheel weight but not sure how heavy it is
Always ran castor 927 at 40:1 ratio

Right now its pretty much set up as a woods bike because thats mostly where i ride and sometimes i will hit the mx track but no major jumps haha i would rather jump a quad than a bike

I will post it for 2500obo
But am Looking to get at least 2000 for it

it can go either way , my 400 with a 440 kit is awesome , love it , fun to ride just an all around good bike . my buddy has a 450 all stock but i keep right up with him , yess i with i had a water cooled bike and front resy shocks but otherwise 400ex all the way , also depends on what riding you do , if its just woods 400 is the king , but if your doing dunes and open places the 450 might be your way to go .

keep the hundy, it is part of history. lol. get the r and ride it too in your off time. I wish i could find a cheap 450 that needed some work to tinker with for the summer, they just arent around for under a grand. lol. I will always keep the hundy though. steve

well if its mostly woods trail riding , yeah handling wise youll notice a big different if you dont have front resys on your 426 like the 450r does , the 450 will have better accel and throttle response on open straight parts but idk to me if your just doin trails and stuff id keep your 426 i mean yeah you will notice some stuff if you get a 450 but unless your riding in other areas i dont think it would be that much noticable

I have both the 400 and 450. I bought the 450 in the winter as I wanted something with some more power for the dunes. I love the 450 for the power and torque in the sand. My 400 has just sat until this last weeked when I took it to the trails in the woods. I love the electric start and reverse so for trails the 400 is nice. If your on the fence teeter there for a while and wait to see what the 2011 450 is like. If its like some think it will have reverse and efi. I will sell the 450 and 400 to get one if it does.

Just my 2 cents.

I have them both also, I ride both depending on my mood

450r gets rode most but the 400 is nice to ride with the wife and kids in the trails, I can just ride the 400 without feeling the need to test my skills

everytime im on the 450r I feel the need to push it to the limit

what a problem to have

ya i know what u mean
if im on a 400ex i feel the need to wheelie lol i think the 400 is so balenced its just awsome for wheelies

With a 450 i feel the need to go fast haha
