I know who that is, but I'll hold back on the name since this is pretty negative stuff. Anyway it happend the weekend before last, and I'm glad to say that he came out okay. Battered and bruised but okay. He'll be back on his bike in no time.

Hopefully next time he gets back on a bike it's with a helmet on, but I won't hold my breath. It's ultimatly his choice and if he does he does, and if he doesn't he doesn't.

Personally I choose to wear mine.

Don't just wear a helmet, buckle it also.......

the reason for this being, i hadda bad experience with this once

theres this hmm... 30 foot jump down by the hills and i figured ahh this jump will be just be for fun (like no stunts) well im in the air and i notice im not gonna make it.... and i didnt wanna bail so i just took the landing like so, and i landed like this ---> / ..... not really that steep but u get the point...

so the front end shoots down and i literally smash my face (thank god i had my helmet on) on the crossbar.... helmet flies off cause i didnt have it buckled and i fly over the handlebars and land rite smack on my lower neck about where the spine begins and i get a front tire to the face.... and that was a keeper of a bruise

so all that into the Reader's Digest version = when u wear ur helmet, buckle it or u mite have the same thing that happened to me, happen to you

i always wear my helmet, and strapped down.....my friend says "oh, i dont need to buckle it, it wont ever come off"...i am just waiting for the day it does...only twice i havent worn a helmet, when i first got my bike(yeah i really shoudla had it then)but i hadnt bought it yet, and that was for about 10 mins total, in first gear low throttle.....and then once when i had just fixed my bike, and was testing it out...rode around in sandles, sleep pants, and a shirt:D my friend, who doesnt beleive in strapping down his helmet, got his first bike and rode it for about 2 months without a helmet.....:o

The whole story...fine...Like I said this was the weekend before last...He was at a stuntshow preparing to go out. He started reving his engine up "to get everybodys attention" and his "clutch adjuster slipped forward because the threads were stripped"...and you know the rest.

How many times have YOUR helmets saved your face??? I am glad I wear mine...

Just about every time I get on my 300. Jumping, my face mask usually hits the handlebars on more than one occasion. Branches in the woods, the basics. The worst is in the winter when ice is falling gets under your helmet hits your pretty face, (with the battle scars of course).

all the more reason IMO. no matter how skilled you are....or think you are...mechanical failure can kill you.
glad he's alright though :)

I don't ever get on my cbr w/out a helmet. My friends dad once said something that I will always remember when I get on my bike, "no matter how hard headed you are, and some of us can be pretty hard headed, it's still no match for the road".
