Hey guys, im stuck on making a decision about what bike i should buy. Theres 2 choices.....This http://geocities.com/ranchertype1/r250.html
http://geocities.com/ranchertype1/r250_2.html and a new z400. I already saw the 250r, the guy started it up but i never rode it. He said hed take 3400 for it. So what do you think i should do.....get the 250r for 3400 or buy a new z. Me and my dad also saw the new Z and he really likes it. One more question, do you think with the money i save buying the 250r over the z, i could get it to a very good condition and possibly buy some extras for it? Let me know what you guys think, im going to be making a decision REAL soon. Thanks alot :)

the R is worth more every day, the rest are worth less everyday, but it also depends on what type riding your going to do

My type of riding right now is nothing too extreme, i ride sand pits and climb hills, lots of trails, open areas, and small jumps. Later on i plan to race MX at the tracks around my house, but nothig serious, just going on weekends and having a little fun. Both bikes sound fine for this type of riding, but im having a real hard time choosing. MichaelS693, you say i cant go wrong with a 250r but what im scared of is that i buy a bike that has more headaches than anything. Anyone elses opinion? Thanks alot

If i were you i would go with the Z 400.....That might be becuz i have been messing with 2-strokes for a while now and some of them can be huge headaches.....(the older ones). z400 has electric start and its fourstroke so it always starts when you want to ride it...Thats just my opinion

I'd go with the r. I just bought an 89 250r, and it is worth more now than my 2000 400ex. A yr. down the road the difference will be much bigger. The 2 guys I mainly ride with have 250r's and they both say that they are as reliable as they come. $3400 is a good price for an r, and that one looks like it has been taken care of. $2000 is a big difference and that r as it sits now will smoke the z, just my opinion.
